Man Utd defender ruled out of Liverpool game
Manchester United defender Raphael Varane has been ruled out of Tuesday's Premier League clash against Liverpool.
The centre-back picked up an injury earlier this month and he subsequently missed the league game against Norwich City.
Ralf Rangnick predicted that he could return for the Reds game, but he has now ruled out the prospect of that happening.
Speaking in today's press conference, Rangnick said that the Frenchman has not returned to team training, and won't be available.
Aside from Varane, Luke Shaw, Fred, Scott McTominay and Edinson Cavani are confirmed absentees for the midweek Anfield trip.
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to miss the game as well following the tragic news of the death of his baby boy.
The Portuguese has been a revelation of late with two hat-tricks in his last four league games, but should now get an extended break.
United are likely to field Marcus Rashford as the main striker tomorrow. Else, Bruno Fernandes could play as a false number nine.
