Napoli star flattered by Arsenal transfer interest

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has been flattered by the transfer interest from Arsenal, a report from Area Napoli claims.

The Nigeria international has been in fine form for the Serie A giants this term, bagging 16 goals and five assists from 27 games.

His form has caught the eye of the Gunners, who are eager to pursue a marquee striker during this summer's transfer window.

It is now reported that Osimhen is flattered by the Gunners' interest as he has the long-term ambition of playing in the Premier League.

However, the Nigerian does not consider the north London club as his number one choice, given their lack of Champions League football.

The Gunners have missed out on the elite competition for five seasons running. They could do so for yet another campaign, as things stand.

They are currently just three points behind fourth-placed Tottenham with a game in hand, but their form has been hugely concerning.

The club have lost four of the previous five league matches, and appear to be on a freefall following injuries to some of their key players.
