Man Utd readying new deal for experienced star?

De Gea set for new Man Utd deal?

Manchester United are prepared to discuss a new contract with goalkeeper David de Gea, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Spaniard has been in superb form between the sticks this season, making several stand-out saves for the Red Devils.

As a result, the hierarchy are now pondering a contract extension, and negotiations could be underway in the coming months.

De Gea is currently contracted to the club until the summer of 2023, but the hierarchy have the option to extend for another year.

Hence, they don't face any urgency to extend his stay, but the board are prepared to reward him for his efforts this campaign.

De Gea presently earns around £375,000-a-week. The club are likely to propose a long-term contract on a similar wage package.

The 31-year-old is unlikely to turn down the proposal. He recently said that he would like to end his career with the Mancunian giants.

De Gea's extension could coincide with the departure of Dean Henderson. The England star is said to be desperate for playing time.
