Tottenham to swoop for Manchester United midfield target

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning an approach to sign Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer.

The Belgian is about to enter the final year of his contract with the Foxes, and he has no plans of penning an extension.

This is expected to pave the way for his summer departure. Arsenal and Manchester United have been linked, but Spurs are also in the hunt.

Antonio Conte's side has urged the hierarchy to sign at least six players. One of them is Tielemens, who can play anywhere in midfield or attack.

The Belgian could be available for around £35 million. Spurs may have the advantage over Arsenal and United if they make the top four.

They are currently on course with a three-point lead over the duo. This would offer them a significant boost in the pursuit of Tielemans.

Juventus and AC Milan have also been credited with an interest, but the 24-year-old is likely to continue in the English top-flight next term.
