Crystal Palace want another Chelsea midfielder on loan

Crystal Palace are reportedly eyeing a fresh loan deal for Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek this summer.

The England international previously had an impressive loan stint with the Eagles in 2017/18 before becoming a Blues regular.

However, he has not been able to cement a consistent starting role in recent seasons, and this could urge him to move elsewhere.

Conor Gallagher is currently enjoying a quality loan spell at the Eagles, and chairman Steve Parish is open to re-signing him or Loftus-Cheek.

He said: "If there's an opportunity to get him (Gallagher) or even Ruben Loftus-Cheek then of course. These are top players and it's been brilliant having him here this year, not just because of what he does on the pitch."

Loftus-Cheek is contracted to the Blues until the summer of 2024. It will be interesting to see whether the club will accept another loan.

If the midfielder has no plans to renew, they could be open to a permanent sale. Southampton have also been linked with his services.
