Arsenal midfielder ready to sign new contract

Mohamed Elneny news

Elneny open to Arsenal stay

Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has opened the door for a contract extension despite his lack of playing time.

The Egyptian has barely played for the Gunners this campaign. He has managed just 602 minutes of first-team football.

However, he has started the last two games against Chelsea and Manchester United where he has been hugely impressive.

On the back of those performances, Elneny has said that he is prepared to stay with the Gunners if they want to keep him.

The midfielder does not have the assurance of playing time, but is willing to put pen-to-paper on a new deal beyond June 2022.

He said: "I always love a challenge and give 100 per cent all the time. I don’t decide who plays but I keep going in training to show how good I am and to make him play me."

"If I don’t play I keep going until I get my chance. If Arsenal say ‘we want you’ I don’t think about leaving. It’s my family for six years. I love this club."

Elneny has been with the Gunners for the past six years. He has never been a regular starter, but has not complained over the same.

He has plenty of offers from the Turkish Super Lig, but has now opened the prospect of prolonging his stay with the Gunners.
