Pereira to play under Ten Hag?

Incoming Manchester City manager Erik ten Hag is prepared to hand a lifeline to midfielder Andreas Pereira next term, ESPN reports.

Pereira joined Flamengo on loan last summer after being deemed surplus to requirements under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

He has since struggled to establish himself with the Brazilian giants. The club are now reluctant to trigger the buy option available.

In this case, Pereira will return to Old Trafford this summer. Rather than selling him, Ten Hag is willing to integrate the midfielder into his plans.

Ten Hag will be handed with a significant transfer budget this summer, but the hierarchy still want him to make the most of the current players.

They are prepared to offload unwanted stars, but there may not necessarily be a selling spree during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Aside from Pereira, Brandon Williams and Donny van de Beek could get the chance to revive their United careers under the new head coach.
