Arsenal firm favourites to sign Brazilian striker

Gabriel Jesus news

Jesus wanted by Arsenal

Arsenal are considered firm favourites to sign Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus at the end of the season.

The Brazilian has been a key player for the Cityzens. In the current campaign, he has bagged 12 goals and 12 assists.

Despite his impressive statistics, he has struggled to nail down a regular starting spot under manager Pep Guardiola.

According to journalist Jorge Nicola, the Gunner are clear favourites in the player's pursuit with no interest elsewhere.

Barcelona were linked with him earlier in the year, but Nicola has revealed that there has been no contact with his agents.

On the contrary, talks are underway between Gunners technical director Edu Gaspar and the player's entourage over a move.

There have been negotiations held for a number of months, and the Gunners are optimistic of securing his services this summer.

Jesus has yet to make a decision, but the Gunners may need to assure him Champions League football next season.

Manchester City are likely to sell him for around £25m.
