Man Utd keen on agreeing deal for 34-goal striker
Manchester United are reportedly keen on landing the services of Darwin Nunez in the upcoming transfer window.
The Red Devils are expected to pursue a marquee striker this summer, and Nunez has emerged as one of their top priorities.
The Uruguayan has been in sensational form with 34 goals for Benfica and Record claims that United are readying an approach.
The Red Devils are one of the clubs best placed to land his services, but they may still need to pay a club-record fee for him.
Nunez was valued at around €40m last summer, but the valuation has nearly trebled amid his superb run of performances.
Benfica are reluctant to negotiate anything less and United will have to break the bank to sign the 22-year-old this summer.
Liverpool and Arsenal have also been linked with the striker, but the former appears unlikely to make such a huge outlay.
Meanwhile, the Gunners' pursuit of Nunez may largely depend on whether they can qualify for the Champions League.
The Gunners' budget could significantly increase if they return to the competition after an extended five-year gap.
