Arsenal fail with club-record offer for striker
Arsenal have failed with a club-record bid to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer, Calciomercato reports.
The Gunners are expected to pursue a marquee centre-forward this summer, and Osimhen has emerged as one of the prime targets.
They have been keeping tabs on his progress in recent months, and it is now reported that they have failed with an opening bid.
The Gunners recently made a club-record offer of around £76 million, but the proposal was swiftly snubbed by the Naples outfit.
Napoli president and owner Aurelio de Laurentiis has been a shrewd negotiator over the years, and he wants more for Osimhen.
De Laurentiis is aware of the high-profile interest for the marksman, and he won't sanction his sale for less than £93 million.
Aside from the Gunners, Manchester United are also fond admirers of the 23-year-old, but the price tag could put them off.
Both clubs will be spending big in the transfer window, but may not want to spend half of the budget on the Nigerian striker
