Tottenham make Alessandro Bastoni primary summer target
Alessandro Bastoni has emerged as Tottenham Hotspur's primary summer transfer target, with the Italian ball playing centre-back seen as the future of Spurs' defence. Currently playing for Inter Milan, after a mixed season with the club, it is understood that the full Italy international, who currently has 11 caps to his name, is ready to move to England to link up with Antonio Conte.
Conte was the manager at Inter Milan between 2019-21 and therefore knows all about the 23-year-old Casalmaggiore born defender's abilities. Standing at 6 foot 3, the defender is strong in the air and is very comfortable playing with the ball at his feet, and is an efficient distributor of the ball from defence.
A fee of around 50 million euros has been mentioned for Bastoni, and Tottenham have already received guarantees that around £150 million will be available to spend on new players during the summer.
Bastoni is comfortable playing as a left-back, and is left-footed. His passing is seen as some of the best in Serie A, and the player offers a threat in front of goal and from attacking set pieces.
