Palmeiras talent linked with transfer move to Arsenal
Brazilian midfielder Danilo has emerged as the name at the very top of Mikel Arteta's summer transfer plans, with the 21-year-old starlet set to leave his home country for Europe this summer. It is rumoured that Danilo could move on loan for one season to France, after the Gunners agreed a new contract with midfielder Mo Elneny.
Danilo has been a revelation since his first appearance for Palmeiras in 2020, going on to appear on a regular basis for his club. In fact, Palmeiras' own club president informed the press that he planned to keep the midfielder as recent as last week: “Palmeiras are working. Our squad is very short, we need reinforcements. We need to buy players, not sell players. Palmeiras needs to buy players like Merentiel. And, in the mid-year window, Danilo stays. You can nail it.”
However, the lure of Europe may prove difficult for Danilo to resist, whilst the £37 million valuation and guarantee that Arsenal are willing to pay the entirety up front are sure to interest the Brazilian Serie A side.
