Arsenal back in for midfielder Renato Sanches?

Renato Sanches set for Arsenal move?

24-year-old midfielder Renato Sanches has again been linked with a transfer to Premier League side Arsenal, with the Lille midfielder apparently hinting that he would consider a move away from France during the summer. Renato Sanches has previously played for Benfica, Bayern Munich and also had a short loan spell with Swansea City in 2017-18.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Renato Sanches several times in the past, but it appears manager Mikel Arteta is now intending to make a firm offer for the Portugal international. The Gunners hope to leverage their excellent relationship with Ligue 1 side Lille in order to bring Renato Sanches to the Emirates, and could even offer Pepe as part of a player plus cash deal. Pepe has struggled since his move from Lille to Arsenal, and the Gunners could offer Pepe plus 10 million euros to secure a deal for Renato Sanches.

Arsenal could allow Granit Xhaka to leave the club this summer, and the Swiss international has indicated that he would eventually like to move to AS Roma for Jose Mourinho. Mourinho is a huge fan of Xhaka, and almost secured a transfer for the Switzerland international last year.

The Gunners are to be given a total budget of around £75 million to spend on new faces, with Renato Sanches being their reported top target before the beginning of the 2022-23 campaign.
