Arsenal midfielder linked with Nottingham Forest move
Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles has been linked with a summer move to Nottingham Forest.
The England international endured a difficult 2021/22 season where he struggled for consistent playing time.
He was limited to just over 500 minutes with the Gunners until January when he chose to join AS Roma on loan.
The 24-year-old started off brightly with the Giallorossi, but soon fell down the pecking order to become a substitute.
Hence, there were no surprises that Roma declined to sign him permanently, and he could now pursue another club.
With just 12 months left in his deal, the Gunners are prepared to sell, and The Mirror reports that Forest are favourites.
Forest boss Steve Cooper previously worked with Maitland-Niles during his time coaching the England junior teams.
He is likely to play a key role in persuading Maitland-Niles, who is also on the radar of Southampton and Everton.
The Toffees failed to sign Maitland-Niles on loan last summer, and they could be the main competitors to Forest.
