Arsenal are now interested in 26-year-old Serie A star

Arsenal have expressed an interest in signing Hellas Verona striker Giovanni Simeone, Tuttomercatoweb claims.

The north London giants are determined to bolster their centre-forward department and they could pursue two strikers.

Talks are already underway with Manchester City's Gabriel Jesus, and it is now claimed that they could swoop for Simeone.

The Argentine bagged 17 goals and six assists for Verona on loan last term. They are expected to sign him permanently from Cagliari this summer.

The Serie A outfit will spend around €10 million for his transfer, and will immediately look for a profit by selling him for €20 million.

Juventus are one of the main suitors of the Argentine, but the Gunners appear prepared to offer stiff competition in the pursuit.

It remains to be seen whether they can lure Simeone to the Premier League amid the transfer interest from the Bianconeri.

The Gunners have seen Dusan Vlahovic and Manuel Locatelli choose Juventus over them, and can't afford another repeat.
