Malacia to join Man Utd?

Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement with Feyenoord to sign left-back Tyrell Malacia.

The Netherlands international was initially expected to join Lyon on a long-term deal after they agreed a fee worth €15m.

However, the transfer was hijacked by United at the 11th hour after agreeing to pay around €17m including add-ons for the player.

They have now been permitted to negotiate personal terms with the Dutchman, and it remains to be seen whether they can convince him.

The 22-year-old was one of Feyenoord's best-performing stars last season, and has been lauded for his attacking attributes in particular.

United boss Erik ten Hag wanted to sign him when he was the Ajax manager last year, and his wish could be finally granted this summer.

The club can easily meet Malacia's salary demands, but the player may want assured playing time ahead of the World Cup in Qatar.

Luke Shaw and Alex Telles are the regular left-backs at United, but the latter is widely expected to leave if Malacia makes the switch.
