Wayne Rooney battles for fitness

Wayne Rooney is battling to be fit for Man Utd in their Premiership crunch match against Wigan at the weekend. It is believed that Rooney has been given 48 hours to prove that he is able to play in the visit to Wigan on Sunday.
Despite missing Manchester United's previous two games through hip injury, Sir Alex Ferguson remains confident that Rooney will be able to play against Wigan at the weekend.
Ferguson has somewhat a dilemma on his hands, as Rooney is desperate to play in the Wigan game, but also has to decide whether or not to save Rooney for the game against Chelsea in the Champions League final.
One thing is for sure, if Man Utd are struggling at the end of the game at the weekend, Rooney is likely to make an appearance from the subs bench.
