Liverpool and Arsenal quoted Marco Asensio price
Liverpool and Arsenal will reportedly need to pay around £26m to sign Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio this summer.
The Spaniard made 42 appearances for the European champions last term, but he averaged just 50 minutes per appearance.
It is now reported that Madrid have no plans of renewing his contract expiring next summer, and he is free to leave the club.
AC Milan have been heavily linked with him in recent weeks, but they are set to face competition from Liverpool and Arsenal.
The Reds are looking to add more depth to their attack for next season, but the Gunners may have an advantage over them.
Asensio wants regular playing time ahead of the World Cup, and Arsenal are prepared to offer him that in a rotation policy.
The reported asking price should be affordable for the Gunners, but the question is whether they will meet his salary demands.
Asensio could be eyeing around £150,000-a-week which would make him one of the highest earners at the north London club.
