Man Utd confident of agreeing deal for Argentine star

Manchester United are reportedly confident of landing Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez following their latest transfer offer.

The Red Devils are keen on signing a new centre-back this summer, and Martinez has emerged as the prime target for them.

According to TalkSPORT, the club have now made a £42m bid for the 24-year-old, and are confident that Ajax will be convinced by their proposal.

Martinez is said to be keen on moving to the Premier League this summer, and has already revealed his desire to the Ajax hierarchy.

Aside from United, Arsenal have also been heavily linked with him, but United have the advantage due to the presence of Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag managed Martinez for the last three seasons at Ajax, and the defender is now keen on reuniting with him at Old Trafford.

Hence, personal terms should be a mere formality. It remains to be seen whether Ajax give the green light for United to secure his services.
