Chelsea agree personal terms with Dutch defender
Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Manchester City defender Nathan Ake ahead of his potential return to the club.
The Blues are expected to bolster their central defensive options this summer after the recent exits of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
Juventus' Matthijs de Ligt has been heavily linked with them, but Ake has been another player that has been on their radar over recent weeks.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues have now reached an agreement over personal terms with Ake, and will now proceed to discuss the fee.
They are unlikely to re-sign their former graduate on the cheap, considering City won't entertain his sale for less than £45 million this summer.
Ake has largely played at the heart of the defence for the reigning English champions, but he can also operate at left-back or in holding midfield.
Chelsea are said to value his versatility. They are on the verge of selling left wing-back Marcos Alonso to Barcelona. Ake could fill that void too.
