Frenkie de Jong to reject Man Utd transfer

Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has no plans of joining Manchester United during the summer transfer window.

The Netherlands international has been the top midfield target for the Red Devils, and they are apparently close to negotiating a fee.

They have agreed a fixed package of around €65m, but talks are still ongoing with the Blaugrana over add-ons in the region of €20m.

Amidst this, Mundo Deportivo claim that De Jong would prefer to stay at Barcelona rather than moving to Old Trafford this summer.

De Jong is not excited by the prospect of reuniting with former Ajax boss Erik ten Hag, given United have failed to qualify for the Champions League.

Meanwhile, the Spanish outlet report that the 25-year-old may consider a move to Chelsea if they make a serious approach for his services.

De Jong would want an assured role in the centre of the park which could mean that one of N'Golo Kante and Jorginho may need to be sold.
