Man Utd suffer double injury blow for Liverpool game
Manchester United could be without the services of Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane for tomorrow's pre-season friendly versus Liverpool.
Maguire and Varane are currently part of the pre-season squad, but they were missing from the full training session in the eve of the friendly.
While Maguire was training individually due to a discomfort, Varane was absent altogether. The Frenchman may have suffered a fresh injury.
The news will come as a blow for the Red Devils and manager Erik ten Hag, who will have definitely chosen Maguire and Varane in the XI.
Of course, they would not have played the full 90 minutes with the lack of fitness in pre-season, but Ten Hag now has limited first-team choices.
Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof are most likely to start at the heart of the defence tomorrow. Axel Tuanzebe could come off the bench.
Phil Jones is the other senior centre-back available, but the Englishman has been left out of the tour to improve on his conditioning.
