Raphinha completes Barcelona move

Raphinha has completed his dream move from Leeds United to Barcelona, in a deal reported to be worth around 53 million euros. Despite the interest of both Arsenal and Chelsea, the Brazilian forward had his heart set on a move to the Nou Camp and has signed a five year contract with the Spanish giants.

The player, who passed his medical today, has been an exceptional talent in the Premier League, helping Leeds United survive last season for another campaign, despite struggling for most of the season. The Elland Road outfit signed Raphinha for 21 million euros from French side Rennes, beating a number of other top sides to his prized signature.

Raphinha had made his debut for Brazil in August of 2021, and is expected to become a first-team regular for his country with playing time guaranteed at the Camp Nou.

It is understood that Barca will deploy Raphinha on the right side, with Ousmane Dembele set to leave the club on a free transfer. It is rumoured that Dembele could end up in England himself, with Chelsea amongst the potential suitors for the player.
