Man Utd ready to sell three centre-backs

Manchester United are prepared to sell three central defenders as they look to compensate for the arrival of Lisandro Martinez.

The Red Devils are currently in advanced negotiations with Ajax for the Argentine, and they are confident of signing him for £46m.

With his arrival, United will be overloaded in central defence, and they are willing to offload as many as three players this summer.

Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe have been on the fringes of the first-team, and are likely to leave, having entered the last year of their contracts.

Eric Bailly could be the other player heading for the exit door despite impressing in the pre-season friendly against Liverpool yesterday.

The 28-year-old effectively has three years left on his contract, but may decide to move on to secure regular first-team football.

Bailly is currently the fourth-choice central defender in the squad behind Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof.

He is due to drop further down the pecking order with Martinez's arrival.
