Erik ten Hag provides injury update on Man Utd duo

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has provided an injury update on Raphael Varane and David de Gea following their absence against Melbourne Victory.

Varane picked up a minor knock in training earlier this week, and he was nowhere to be seen in the matchday squad against Victory.

De Gea was likewise missing after sustaining a minor injury against Liverpool in Thailand. Both players are expected to return next week.

Speaking to the media, Ten Hag revealed that De Gea has already returned to training while Varane is due to be involved in the coming days.

United have had a brilliant start to pre-season with a 4-0 win over Liverpool followed by a 4-1 triumph against Melbourne Victory at the MCG.

They are now scheduled to face Crystal Palace in Melbourne on Tuesday afternoon before taking on Aston Villa three days later in Perth.

Following the Australia tour, United play two more friendlies against Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano on July 30 and July 31.
