Ronaldo not on Bayern's radar

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has insisted that Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo won't be joining the German champions this summer.

The Bavarian giants recently agreed to sanction the sale of Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona, and this has led to suggestions that they could pursue Ronaldo as a replacement.

However, Salihamidzic has emphasised that won't be the case. The Bayern chief said that the club have a lot of respect for Ronaldo and his success, but he is not a topic of interest for them.

He told Sport1 earlier today: "I have a lot of respect for Cristiano Ronaldo, his successes and his career. But once again: That was and is not a topic for us."

Ronaldo has asked to leave United this summer as he aims to play Champions League football for a 20th straight season. So far, it does not appear he will be leaving the club.

Aside from Bayern, Chelsea have also distanced themselves from making an approach for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner. Thomas Tuchel prefers a more fluid and versatile attack.
