Oleksandr Zinchenko signs four-year deal at Arsenal
Arsenal have signed Oleksandr Zinchenko on a four-year contract following his move from Manchester City, Fabrizio Romano reports.
The Gunners have been eager to sign a new left-back this summer, and they were initially interested in Ajax's Lisandro Martinez.
However, the arrival of Manchester United onto the scene put them off from signing the Argentine. Ajax wanted over £50 million.
This saw them turn their attention to Zinchenko, and they have now quickly completed the formalities for his transfer from City.
Zinchenko joined the Gunners' pre-season base in Orlando yesterday, and he has now put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal with them.
He has largely played as a left-back for the Premier League champions, but is capable of operating from the centre of the park too.
He has done so on several occasions for Ukraine. His superb distribution and ball control should provide an upgrade for Arsenal.
Zinchenko has joined the Gunners for £32m, and could be a better fit than Martinez, who will need to adapt to the Premier League.
