Man Utd want to sign Frenchman on a free transfer

Manchester United have been linked with a move for Dan-Axel Zagadou, who was recently released by Borussia Dortmund.

The 23-year-old showed lot of promise during his initial career at Dortmund, but injuries did not allow him to become a regular.

After several injury-plagued seasons, Dortmund decided against extending his stay. He was let go when his deal expired on June 30.

According to Media Foot, United are now said to be interested in signing the Frenchman, who is available on a free transfer.

However, they are likely to face competition from Inter. The Nerazzurri have turned to him after missing out on Gleison Bremer.

It remains to be seen whether United make a genuine attempt to sign him, considering they are loaded with centre-back options.

After signing Lisandro Martinez, they have as many as six central defenders in the squad, but few of them could make way soon.

Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Raphael Varane should stay, but Eric Bailly, Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe could move on.
