Arsenal interested in signing Lucas Paqueta

Arsenal are interested in signing Lyon midfielder Lucas Paqueta, but have yet to make a formal approach, RMC Sport claim.

The Gunners are on the lookout for a creative central midfielder, and Paqueta is one of the players under consideration.

The Frenchman largely operated in Lyon's attack last term, but is also comfortable playing from the centre of the park.

His strong tackling and distribution skills make him ideal for the Gunners, but a formal offer has yet to be made, as per RMC.

Les Gones value Paqueta in the region of €60 million. The Gunners may want to recoup funds before making a late move.

Lucas Torreira and Ainsley Maitland-Niles are among midfielders that could be offloaded on a permanent basis over coming weeks.

Torreira has already been the subject of interest from Valencia and Roma. The latter have enquired over the Gunners' asking price.

Arsenal were looking for around €15m for Torreira earlier this summer, but are now willing to sanction his sale for just €10m.
