Chelsea ready to sign Italian midfield sensation

Chelsea are set to land the signature of Inter Milan midfielder Cesare Casadei, according to The Athletic.

The Blues have been heavily active during the summer transfer window, and have already signed five players.

Among them are Carney Chukwuemeka and Gabriel Slonina, who have been signed with a long-term plan in mind.

Casadei is another player that has been on the Blues' radar, and they are now on the verge of landing his signature.

Their initial transfer proposals were rejected by the Nerazzurri, and they are now prepared to meet the €15m price tag.

Personal terms have already been agreed, and it appears a matter of time before the Blues sign the 19-year-old ace.

Casadei is widely regarded as one of the best young midfielders in Italian football, but has yet to make his Inter debut.

Aside from Chelsea, Real Sociedad and Nice were also interested in him, but neither agreed to pay the asking price.

Inter wanted a buy-back clause for the future, but have accepted to sell him permanently due to their financial issues.
