Man Utd want to sign Casemiro

Manchester United are planning a shock move to sign Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro this summer, according to Marca.

The Red Devils are eyeing a top-class defensive midfielder this summer, and they have looked at different options.

A deal for Frenkie de Jong has stalled over personal terms, and the same has become the case with Adrien Rabiot.

Hence, they have now turned their attention to Casemiro, but it is unclear whether Los Blancos will sell him.

There were suggestions that he could leave for €50m earlier this summer, but things have gone quite in recent weeks.

Nevertheless, Los Blancos could be persuaded to sanction his sale after signing Aurelien Tchouameni from Monaco.

They also have Eduardo Camavinga for the holding midfield position, and Casemiro could make way in the coming days.

It remains to be seen whether United can convince him to join without Champions League football this campaign.

This has proved a setback in signing several key targets this summer.
