Alexander Isak rejected Manchester United transfer
Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak reportedly turned down the chance to join Manchester United this summer.
The Sweden international recently became the Magpies' record signing, having arrived from Real Sociedad for £63m.
He has already been touted for big things with the Tynesiders, but it appears United were also keen on landing his services.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Red Devils wanted to lure Isak with a juicy contract offer, but he snubbed their advances.
The 22-year-old was rather happy to take up the bigger challenge with the Magpies, who could become a top club in future.
The Magpies are currently owned by a Saudi-led consortium, who have the long-term aim to compete for regular silverware.
Aside from trophies, they are also hoping to play regular European football. The arrival of Isak is definitely a huge statement.
Isak has yet to hit 20 goals in a single league campaign, but definitely has the potential to reach those heights at Newcastle.
