Liverpool midfielder close to injury comeback?
Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita could return from injury ahead of Guinea's international friendlies against Algeria and Ivory Coast.
The 27-year-old has been unavailable for the last five games at Liverpool, but he has still been picked by his national team.
Speaking to reporters, Guinea manager Kaba Diawara said that Keita is injured, but he is recovering ahead of schedule.
He said: "Naby Kéita is injured and there he is recovering from his injury. His situation is improving and he is even ahead of schedule."
Furthermore, he added that the country are monitoring his position very closely, and Keita could be fit in time for the friendlies.
He added: "We are monitoring his situation very closely. We still have a little over two weeks before our first game. There are chances of getting it back by then."
Keita has endured an injury-plagued career with the Reds, and the chances are that he could leave the club at the end of the season.
His contract expires in June next year. Talks over a new deal have stalled.
