Ruben Amorim dismisses future Chelsea managerial role
Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim has distanced himself from speculation that he could succeed Graham Potter at Chelsea.
The Blues recently appointed Potter from Brighton & Hove Albion as their new manager following the dismissal of Thomas Tuchel.
Within hours of his announcement, there have been reports suggesting that the owners view Amorim as a future option if Potter is sacked.
When asked about this, Amorim clearly said that he has another 18 months with Sporting, and he is not thinking about any another project.
He told O Jogo: "The project I am in is the project I want. I have another year and a half of contract; Chelsea have presented a coach for the next five years. I am happy here and I am not thinking about another project."
Potter was expected to be unveiled today, but it could not happen following the untimely demise of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The Englishman has instead been involved in training with his new players as they prepare for Wednesday's game against Red Bull Salzburg.
