Denis Zakaria makes stunning revelation over Chelsea transfer

Switzerland international Denis Zakaria has made a stunning revelation over his deadline day move to Chelsea.

The Blues were determined to land a holding midfielder in the final days of the summer transfer window. They eventually signed Zakaria on loan from Juventus.

Zakaria is still awaiting his debut for the west London giants, but he has now revealed that he did not know about the move until 6 hours before the deadline.

In an interview with Blick, he said: "I didn’t know a move to Chelsea was possible until 6 hours before the end of the transfer window!"

The Blues were eyeing a deal for Ajax's Edson Alvarez on deadline day, but the Dutch champions had no plans of sanctioning his departure.

As a result, the club made the decision to sign Zakaria on loan, and it remains to be seen whether the Swiss can impress with his displays.

The Blues have the option to sign him permanently for €30 million next summer, and Zakaria will be hoping to secure a long-term deal.
