Josko Gvardiol opens the door for Chelsea transfer?
RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol has opened the door to join Chelsea ahead of the January transfer window.
The Blues were interested in signing him earlier this summer. The hierarchy wanted to negotiate a pre-contract for next season.
Talks were held with Leipzig regarding the same, but the Bundesliga giants put them off with a reported price tag of £70 million.
Gvardiol followed to sign a new long-term deal with Leipzig, but the Blues continue to remain interested in signing him.
The centre-back has now opened the door for a transfer by saying that he could assess his situation at the turn of the year.
He said: "I'm happy at Leipzig, I still have a lot to learn and need to work on myself."
"I have people who deal with it, I didn't think about a transfer. We'll see what happens in the winter."
Gvardiol is expected to feature for Croatia at the World Cup, and his stock could rise further with a strong performance.
