Chelsea will return for Bundesliga ace in January
Chelsea will make a fresh attempt to land RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol when the transfer window reopens.
The Blues attempted to sign Gvardiol from the Bundesliga outfit this summer. They wanted a pre-agreement for next season.
Negotiations were held in the final days of the transfer window, but the Blues were put off by Leipzig's £70 million asking price.
Gvardiol followed to sign a new long-term deal with the Bundesliga giants, but the Blues have not given up yet on signing him.
According to football.london, the west London giants remain keen on the Croatian, and could make a fresh move in January.
It is likely that they will propose to sign the Croatian next summer and could make use of the next window to negotiate the price.
Chelsea have a good working relationship with Leipzig, having signed Timo Werner and sold him back to the Bundesliga outfit.
The Blues could spend around £260m in the next two transfer windows.
