Brazilian star confirms Chelsea transfer offer
Tottenham Hotspur attacker Richarlison has confirmed that Chelsea made a transfer offer for him this summer before Spurs signed him.
The Brazil international was the subject of interest from multiple European clubs this summer, and the Blues were one of those teams.
Speaking to Globo Esporte, Richarlison has now revealed that the Blues made a bid for him, but Spurs were first to meet the price tag.
He said: "I know Chelsea made an offer, and I believe Arsenal also contacted Everton to ask about my situation, but Spurs came in and paid the fee, you know? It’s as simple as that."
The 25-year-old has largely featured off the bench for Spurs this term, but has made an impact with two goals and two assists so far.
With a hectic schedule coming up before the World Cup, the Brazilian is bound to get plenty of minutes as part of the rotation.
He is currently competing with the likes of Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Moura for the wide attacking roles.
