Juventus midfielder turned down Man Utd transfer
Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli reportedly turned down an approach from Manchester United this summer.
The Red Devils were determined to bolster their midfield during the recent transfer window and Frenkie de Jong was the top target.
However, the club could not convince the Barcelona star to join them. As a result, they ended up landing Casemiro from Real Madrid.
It is now revealed by Calciomercato that United were also interested in pursuing Locatelli, but were unsuccessful in their move.
Locatelli was offered a bumper wage package to make the switch to Old Trafford, but he politely turned down the request to stay.
The Italian has struggled to live up to the high expectations since his loan move to Juventus from Sassuolo more than a year ago.
The Bianconeri have the option to buy him next summer, and it won't be a surprise if United revisit their interest when the season ends.
Arsenal are also big admirers of the Euro 2020 winner.
