Chelsea quoted price tag to sign Rafael Leao

Chelsea will need to pay around £87m to sign AC Milan attacker Rafael Leao next year, according to The Sun.

The Blues were heavily interested in the Portuguese this summer, but their transfer bids were rejected by the Rossoneri.

The club were willing to pay as much as £63m for his services, but Milan did not want to sell following their recent takeover.

However, their stance could change at the turn of the year particularly if Leao has no plans of signing a new long-term deal.

Leao has entered the final two years of his contract with the Milan giants, and there is currently a stand-off over the wages.

If the situation remains unchanged, it is reported that the Rossoneri would be willing to sanction his departure for around £87m.

Chelsea will be among the front-runners to sign him in that case, but they could face competition in the form of Manchester City.

Leao has made a tremendous start to the current campaign with Milan. He has bagged four goals and seven assists from nine games.
