Chelsea handed big boost in signing Declan Rice
Chelsea have been handed a big boost in signing West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice at the end of the campaign.
The England international has been with the Hammers throughout his playing career, but has been tipped to move on.
His current deal expires in the summer of 2024, but the Hammers have the option to extend his stay for another year.
The east London outfit will trigger the clause soon, but Rice has no intention of penning a new deal beyond that period.
According to Football Insider, Rice has high ambitions for the future and he wishes to play for a Champions League side.
The Hammers have been holding out for a £150m fee over recent years, but it is claimed that the valuation could be lowered.
Furthermore, Chelsea are said to be keeping a close eye on Rice with a view to a deal during next summer's transfer window.
Rice started from the Blues' academy, but was released as a 14-year-old. He has been tipped to reunite for a number of seasons.
