Christopher Nkunku close to signing Chelsea contract?

RB Leipzig attacker Christopher Nkunku is reportedly on the verge of signing a contract with Chelsea.

The Blues reached a verbal agreement for the 24-year-old recently and they are now negotiating the payment structure.

Instead of paying his €60m release clause in a single payment, the Blues prefer to pay a higher sum over a longer period.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues are fully in control of Nkunku's future and they should sign him very soon.

The Frenchman has already undergone a medical and agreed personal terms with them. He is now waiting to sign a contract.

Nkunku is only expected to join the Blues next summer regardless of an early agreement with the Bundesliga outfit.

Aside from him, the Blues are also interested in a pre-agreement to sign Leipzig teammate Josko Gvardiol next term.

They started negotiations with Leipzig over the summer but were put off by the €90m valuation set by the German outfit.
