Arsenal quoted hefty fee to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk

Arsenal handed Mudryk blow

Arsenal will need to pay a staggering fee to sign Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk during the January transfer window.

The Ukrainian has been in splendid form for Shakhtar this term, registering eight goals and eight assists from 16 appearances.

The Gunners were already interested in signing him last summer and it is now claimed that they could make a fresh bid in January.

However, their chances of landing him seem improbable, considering Shakhtar are now looking for around €100m to sanction his sale.

Mudryk was valued at around €50m last summer, but football director Darijo Srna has now said that he won't leave for less than €100m.

The news will come as a huge blow for the north London giants, who are looking for a young winger to add to the squad in January.

Mudryk would be the perfect addition, but it does not make sense to pay such a fee for someone, who is unproven at the age of 21.
