Barcelona want to sign Arsenal midfield target

Barcelona are planning to sign Arsenal midfield target Youri Tielemans during the January transfer window.

The Leicester City star was heavily linked with a move to the Gunners last summer, but they were put off by the £40m asking price.

The Gunners were reluctant to pay the fee, considering the Belgian had entered the final year of his contract, but they may regret the decision.

According to Fichajes, the Blaugrana have joined the Gunners in the race for Tielemans and they could attempt to sign him in the New Year.

The Catalans have the option of negotiating a pre-contract for next season, but they are being touted to land the Belgian for £20m in January.

Arsenal and Barcelona are both top of their respective leagues at the moment, but the latter are obviously a more lucrative destination.

Tielemans made a slow start to the ongoing campaign but his form was quite spectacular for the Foxes before the start of the World Cup finals.
