Diogo Dalot is reluctant to sign a new Manchester United contract unless he is guaranteed a regular starting role next season.

The Portuguese has been an undisputed starter from the right-back role this campaign and he has missed just one game.

There is basically no competition for him at the moment, but the scenario could completely change ahead of next season.

United are hot in the pursuit of Inter Milan's Denzel Dumfries and they are confident of signing him for around €60 million.

His arrival would have a direct impact on Dalot's playing time and this could urge the Portuguese to head for the exit door.

According to Sport, Dalot has no plans of penning a new contract at Old Trafford unless he remains a regular starter.

Dalot's current deal expires in June 2023 but the club can extend for another 12 months.with an extension clause available.

If they can't prolong his stay, he is likely to be sold next summer. Barcelona are prepared to make an approach for him.
