Man Utd in for Costa?

Manchester United are reportedly planning talks to sign Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa.

The Red Devils are preparing to move on from David de Gea next summer and Costa has been identified as his replacement.

The Portuguese was pretty average for Portugal at the World Cup, but United are still said to be firmly interested in signing him.

According to Correio da Manha, the club are planning to hold formal talks with Porto when the transfer window reopens.

It is added that the Primeira Liga outfit don't want to sell him in January and United would have to activate the €75m release clause.

United have plenty of positions to strengthen in the New Year and a new keeper does not appear a necessity at the current point.

It would be a huge statement if they sign Costa in January, considering they are currently prioritising a forward for the New Year.

Costa is also on the radar of Chelsea, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
