Manchester United are ready to finalise a new long-term contract with Diogo Dalot, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Portuguese has been a revelation under manager Erik ten Hag and he has become an undisputed starter from right-back.

United recently triggered a one-year extension clause in his contract and talks are now underway over a long-term renewal.

Dalot's current contract expires in the summer of 2024 and the hierarchy want to sort out his future as soon as possible.

With Barcelona and Real Madrid keeping tabs, United are ready to finalise an improved contract in the upcoming weeks.

Dalot is one of the lowest earners at the club at £25,000-a-week. He could earn three or four times more with a renewal.

The right-back is currently focused at United but will want the guarantee of playing time to commit his future to the club.

United are said to be eyeing a deal for Denzel Dumfries in the summer which could potentially reduce Dalot's minutes.
