Chelsea could swoop to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk from under the noses of Arsenal, after the Shakhtar Donetsk sporting director Darijo Srna was spotted in the stands at the Blues' game against Man City last night. Srna is responsible for pushing for the largest possible fee for the sale of Ukrainian international Mudryk.

It is understood that Shakhtar have already rejected Arsenal's latest offer of £62 million, and Chelsea are now ready to bid £80 million to sign the Ukraine starlet.

This news comes as a surprise, considering Mudryk has had his heart set on a move to the Emirates Stadium all along, and has reportedly already agreed terms with the Gunners on a five and a half year deal.

Mikel Arteta and director Edu are said to be desperate to bring in a forward during the January transfer window, but Edu does not want to pay more than his most recent offer for the player.

Shakhtar are looking to sell Mudryk during the January transfer window in order to boost their own finances and bring in a replacement for the 22-year-old swiftly.
