Ten Hag slams average signings in the past

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has hit out at the hierarchy for the average signings made over the past few seasons.

The Dutchman took charge of the Red Devils last summer and he has since earned plenty of plaudits from fans and pundits.

United are currently fourth in the Premier League after 17 games and they look in a good position to qualify for the Champions League.

Amidst this, Ten Hag has slammed United's board for making average signings in the past that are not good enough to play for the club.

He told Voetbal International: "Most purchases have been average - and at United average is not good enough. United's shirt weighs heavily. Only real personalities, who can perform under great pressure, can play here."

United have been in brilliant form over the past few weeks. They are currently on a seven-match winning run in all competitions.

They should be favourites to beat Charlton Athletic in their next outing in the Carabao Cup quarter final which will be played on Tuesday.
