Leeds United have made a new approach for Marseille forward Bamba Dieng, a player that the Elland Road outfit very nearly signed during last summer's transfer window. In August, a fee of 10 million euros was agreed for Dieng, only for the player to pull the plug on a move at the last minute.

Dieng is no longer wanted at Marseille, and the club's management are urgently trying to push the attacker out of the club, as the 22-year-old Senegal international weighs up his next move.

Dieng has only played six times in Ligue 1 so far this campaign, scoring one goal, and his unimpressive goalscoring record appears to be a problem for the French club, who could now let Dieng leave for just shy of 8 million euros.

Jesse Marsch and Leeds United have been one of the more active clubs during the transfer window, but the club still maintain they are short of attacking resources and are confident that a second, renewed bid for the striker will be approved not just by Marseille, but also by the player.
